Windows VMware Senior Administrator

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows VMware Senior Administrator to join our client's dynamic team through Pradeepit Consulting Services. This pivotal role requires a professional with demonstrated expertise in managing complex Windows and VMware environments. You will be instrumental in ensuring maximum performance, security, and uptime across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• System Management: Lead the installation, deployment, and configuration of Windows servers and the VMware virtualization platform.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations for Windows and VMware technologies. Support system design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Standards & Compliance: Define and enforce rigorous standards, policies, and procedures for system administration and security.
• Patching & Upgrades: Manage the latest security patches on ESXi hosts via SSH & VUM. Conduct OS upgrades (Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016, 2019) and ESX servers (5.0, 6.0, 6.5, 6.7, 7.0 & 8.0), including antivirus.
• Server Migration: Execute physical to virtual server migration using standalone converter.
• User & Access Control: Manage user accounts, OS hardening, password policies, file permissions, and restrict registry access.
• Virtual Machine Management: Create VMs, snapshots, clones, and templates. Perform VM and storage migrations.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and conduct performance tuning.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Resolve complex issues related to Windows servers and VMware virtual machines, including root cause analysis.
• Security Implementation: Maintain security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
• Automation: Lead initiatives to automate routine tasks using scripting and tools.
• Collaboration: Partner with other IT teams to support integration with infrastructure components.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on latest technologies and best practices, recommending new tools.

Skills

• Expertise in Windows server management.
• Strong experience with VMware virtualization (ESX/ESXi versions up to 8.0).
• Proficiency in system security, troubleshooting, and ensuring high uptime.
• Ability to define policies and procedures.
• Experience with patch management (SSH & VUM).

• Competence in user and OS hardening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred.
• Proven expertise as a Windows / VMware Administrator or in a similar role, with demonstrated ability to manage complex Windows environments at a lead level.
