Job Description
Job Summary:
The Windows Engineer is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems and infrastructure. This role plays a key part in ensuring system availability, performance, and security across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and services
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file/print services
- Monitor server health, apply patches, and ensure system performance
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Ensure systems meet security and compliance standards
- Document system configurations, changes, and procedures
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure projects
- Provide technical support for escalated system issues
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Windows system administrator or engineer
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and core components
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V
- Good communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator or Azure Administrator
- Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS)
- Exposure to ITIL practices and ticketing tools like ServiceNow
- Knowledge of security tools, backup software, and monitoring systems
