Job Description

Teamware Solutions is seeking a proficient Unix/Linux Administrator with a strong foundation in Red Hat Linux to manage and maintain our server infrastructure. You'll be crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our Linux-based systems, supporting critical applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform essential Unix/Linux administration tasks, including system installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage user accounts, file systems, permissions, and disk space efficiently.
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and ensure high availability of servers.
  • Implement and manage basic networking configurations, including firewall rules and routing.
  • Conduct regular system backups and assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Write and maintain shell scripts for automation of routine administrative tasks.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues, analyze logs, and resolve errors promptly.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Unix/Linux Administrator or in a similar system support role.

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of Unix/Linux basics and core commands (e.g., file system navigation, process management, user administration, networking commands).
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including installation, configuration, and package management (RPM, YUM/DNF).
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, KornShell) for automation and task execution.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) within a Linux environment.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools and log analysis.
  • Basic understanding of Linux security concepts (e.g., SELinux, firewalld).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills for operating system issues.

Preferred Skills:

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and Linux instances therein
