Transmission Line Engineer - Transmission & Distribution

We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer with 2-6 years of experience to perform modeling and structural design for transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in electrical or civil engineering, capable of handling complex situations and devising new, more efficient solutions. This role requires proficiency in specialized software and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Analysis: Perform transmission line planning, modeling, analysis, and structural design using software like PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Tower. This includes developing design criteria, conducting structural analysis of various line poles and towers, and performing wire sag and tension analysis.
• Project Management: Plan, organize, and monitor work activities to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. You'll prepare accurate project estimates and provide regular updates to your manager.
• Documentation and Procurement: Create key project deliverables such as Plan Profile drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and engineering estimates. You'll also support the procurement process by developing specifications and reviewing vendor drawings.
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide technical expertise to identify and resolve problems. You will also mentor and coach less experienced team members and participate in meetings with clients.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 2-6 years of experience in the power transmission sector is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Tower is essential. You should also be familiar with MS Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Google Earth, and Arc-GIS. Knowledge of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, and ASCE 7 is highly preferred.
