Transmission Line Engineer (T&D)

We're looking for a Transmission Line Engineer with 2-6 years of experience to perform structural modeling and design for transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in electrical or civil engineering and a proven ability to innovate and solve complex problems. This role requires proficiency in specialized software and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant designs for a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Analysis: You'll perform transmission line planning, modeling, analysis, and structural design using software like PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Tower. This includes structural analysis of various towers and poles, wire sag and tension analysis, and developing design criteria.
• Project Management: Plan, organize, and monitor all work activities to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. You'll prepare accurate estimates and provide regular updates to the manager.
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide technical expertise to identify and resolve problems. You will also mentor and coach less experienced team members and participate in meetings with clients.
• Documentation and Procurement: Create key project deliverables such as Plan & Profile drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and engineering estimates. You'll also support the procurement process by developing specifications and reviewing vendor drawings.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 2-6 years of experience. Prior experience in power transmission is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Tower is essential. You should also be familiar with MS-Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Arc-GIS. Knowledge of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, and IEEE is a plus.
• Personal Attributes: You must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial. You should be a committed team player with the flexibility to work on different projects and a willingness to travel within the U.S. as needed.
