Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Research Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a passion for organic chemistry and a strong interest in drug discovery. You will be responsible for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel chemical entities, working collaboratively within a dynamic research environment to drive projects forward. This position offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the development of new chemical entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Synthesis & Characterization: Perform synthesis, purification, and characterization of chemical intermediates.
- Project Delivery: Produce small to large quantities of novel chemical entities to support drug discovery initiatives.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team to advance chemistry projects and achieve goals.
- Laboratory Practice: Utilize practical skills in thin-layer chromatography, column purification, and extraction.
- Safety & Compliance: Adapt and adhere to all laboratory safety practices and guidelines.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related field.
- Alternatively, an M. Pharma with a specialization in Organic Synthesis.
- Relevant project or work experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of basic organic chemistry, including reaction mechanisms, name reactions, and functional group transformations.
- Good understanding of fundamental chemical concepts such as molarity, normality, and equivalency.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques, including NMR, IR, and mass spectrometry.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques like thin-layer chromatography and column purification.
- Strong soft and scientific communication skills.
- A keen interest in working in a dynamic research environment.
