Telecom Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Telecom Network Engineer with 4 to 5 years of experience to design, implement, and maintain telecommunications networks. The candidate will ensure network availability, optimize performance, and troubleshoot telecom infrastructure to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain telecom network infrastructure including switches, routers, multiplexers, and PBX systems
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot telecom network issues to ensure minimal downtime
• Perform capacity planning and network optimization for voice and data communications
• Implement and manage telecom network security and access controls
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers for network upgrades, installations, and maintenance
• Support integration of telecom services with IT infrastructure and business applications
• Document network configurations, changes, and procedures
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for telecom systems
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other teams
• Stay updated on emerging telecom technologies and industry best practices

Required Skills:

• 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in telecom network engineering and support
• Strong knowledge of telecom protocols and technologies (SIP, SS7, MPLS, VoIP, ISDN)
• Experience with telecom equipment such as Cisco, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, or similar
• Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools
• Understanding of telecom standards and regulatory requirements
• Proficient in troubleshooting telecom network issues and root cause analysis
• Knowledge of IP networking, routing, and switching concepts
• Experience with PBX, IP-PBX, and unified communication systems
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CCNA Voice, CCNP Collaboration, JNCIA-Junos, or equivalent
• Experience with cloud-based telecom solutions and UCaaS platforms
• Familiarity with LTE/5G networks and mobile telecommunications
• Knowledge of network security principles in telecom environments
• Experience with network automation and scripting
