Technical Writer

Job Division Summary:

We are looking for a Technical Writer for technical publication team to work on projects related to ILE and ESS products. The role includes manuals creation/ update, contents writing/ updates, illustrations and translation needs. This position will report to Manager - TechPub.

Responsibilities

• Develop software and mechanical related content and write clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation.
• Research industry standards and best practices for writing technical documentation.
• Work closely with product managers and engineers to gather technical information.
• Attend meetings with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand project requirements.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet all documentation deliverable deadlines.
• Manage workload and achieve results with minimal supervision.

Mandatory Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (document source language).
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Proficient in Arbortext Editor, DITA/XML authoring tool.
• Knowledge of Power Tools and Lifting products.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Global teams.
• Strong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation process.

Desired Skills

• Experience in content management system (CMS) such as Windchill.
• Familiarity with graphic tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or Snagit is advantageous.

Education and Experience

• B.E., (Mechanical or equivalent)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in technical writing domain.
• Proactive, self-motivating with ability to develop own priorities.
• Conversant with Microsoft tools: Excel, PowerPoint Presentation and MSP.
