About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead Duck Creek implementation, configuration, and support teams for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance projects. This leadership role involves overseeing technical delivery across the Duck Creek Suite, mentoring developers, ensuring high-quality solutions for commercial, workers' compensation, and auto lines, driving Agile/Waterfall projects, managing risks, and collaborating with clients, onshore/offshore teams, and senior stakeholders to deliver transformative insurance platforms on cloud environments.

Job Title: Technical Manager – Duck Creek (P&C Insurance)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Duck Creek developers, configurators, and technical resources; provide technical guidance, performance coaching, mentoring, and career development.
  • Oversee end-to-end design, development, configuration, migration, and support of Duck Creek products including Policy Administration, Rating, Forms, Pages, Party, Data Hub, TransACT, Migration, API Development, Example Author/Server/Express, Trace Monitor, and Example Utility Center.
  • Define technical architecture, standards, and best practices for Duck Creek implementations; ensure scalable, performant, and maintainable solutions aligned with P&C insurance domain needs (Commercial Lines, Workers Compensation, Auto).
  • Manage project technical delivery in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and/or Waterfall environments: facilitate ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, risk/issue management, and status reporting to project managers and clients.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, underwriters, and stakeholders to translate insurance requirements into technical designs, estimates, and roadmaps.
  • Conduct and enforce code reviews, quality gates, unit/performance testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis using tools like IIS, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and TFS.
  • Develop and optimize database solutions in SQL Server 2019+ and Oracle 11g; ensure data integrity and performance.
  • Communicate technical progress, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership, clients, and cross-functional teams; contribute to presales, proposals, and capability building.
  • Foster continuous improvement: implement process enhancements, knowledge sharing, and adoption of Duck Creek best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of overall IT experience with 6+ years in Duck Creek Suite implementations (Policy, Rating, Forms, Pages, Party, Data Hub, Migration, TransACT, Example Author/Server/Express, API Development, Trace Monitor, Example Utility Center).
  • Strong domain expertise in P&C Insurance, particularly Commercial Lines, Workers Compensation, and Auto products/processes.
  • Proven hands-on proficiency in SQL Server 2019 and above; working knowledge of Oracle 11g.
  • Experience with development tools and platforms: GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, TFS, IIS, and code review processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies, including team management and project delivery accountability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience as Technical Lead/Manager in Duck Creek projects at insurance carriers, consultancies or product implementations.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure strongly preferred), including deployments, CI/CD, and scaling Duck Creek solutions.
  • Proficiency in .NET/C#, XML/JSON, XSLT, HTML, and low-code/no-code Duck Creek configurations.
  • Experience with Duck Creek OnDemand (SaaS), upgrades, patching, and large-scale migrations.
  • People management experience: leading teams of 8–15+ members, performance reviews, and resource planning.
  • Certifications in Duck Creek products, Azure, Agile/Scrum, or relevant P&C technologies.
  • Exposure to production support, incident management, and client-facing delivery.
