Tableau Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server (on-prem) or Tableau Cloud environments.
• Manage user access, roles, groups, projects, and permissions in accordance with organizational policies.
• Monitor server health, performance, and usage through Tabadmin, TABCMD, or TSM (Tableau Services Manager).
• Schedule and troubleshoot extracts, data source refreshes, subscriptions, and alerts.
• Implement data governance practices, ensuring secure and optimized data delivery.
• Work with BI teams to publish and deploy dashboards, workbooks, and data sources.
• Manage server capacity planning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with IT and InfoSec teams to ensure compliance with security policies, including SSO/SAML authentication and SSL configurations.
• Support migration of content and upgrades across Dev, QA, and Prod environments.
• Automate tasks using scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and REST APIs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Tableau Server administration.
• Strong knowledge of TSM, TABCMD, Tableau REST API, and Tableau Desktop.
• Experience with Active Directory, SSO/SAML, and LDAP integration.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL (Tableau Repository) and log analysis for performance tuning.
• Understanding of data security, permissions, and publishing workflows.

Desirable:

• Tableau certifications (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Associate, Server Certified Associate).
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Tableau Cloud administration.
• Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD practices, scripting, or tools like Jenkins/Git.
• Knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, and data governance frameworks.
