Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux/Unix) and related infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and ensure system availability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
- Perform backups, disaster recovery, patching, and system upgrades.
- Maintain documentation related to system configuration, incidents, and changes.
- Collaborate with network, database, and application teams to support integrated environments.
Release Analysis & Management:
- Coordinate software release activities across multiple teams including development, QA, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Review release packages for completeness and adherence to standards.
- Maintain release calendars, schedules, and version control repositories.
- Conduct risk analysis and impact assessments related to releases.
- Participate in deployment planning, execution, and post-release validation.
- Track release metrics, document issues, and provide status reports.
- Support automation of build and deployment processes using CI/CD tools.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in system administration and/or release management.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
- Experience with configuration management and deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, etc.).
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN).
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) administration.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
- Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Certified Release Train Engineer (SAFe).
- Prior experience supporting DevOps teams and CI/CD pipelines.
