Job Description

A sales support staff member's job includes providing administrative and customer support to the sales team, such as managing customer communication, processing orders, and generating sales reports. They also assist with data entry, maintain customer records, and help resolve client issues to ensure the sales process runs efficiently, allowing the sales team to focus on closing deals. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative tasks: Perform data entry, maintain organized filing systems, and handle customer correspondence via phone, email, and chat.
  • Sales process support: Process and manage sales orders and invoices. Generate and present sales reports and forecasts. Assist in compiling leads and delegating them to the sales team.
  • Customer service: Respond to customer inquiries, provide product information, and ensure customer satisfaction. Assist with resolving customer issues and complaints, coordinating with other departments as needed.
  • Sales team assistance: Provide administrative and technical support to the sales team. Help with the onboarding of new team members.
  • Data and reporting: Compile and analyze sales data and metrics. Monitor performance indicators and identify ways to improve sales targets.
  • Other duties: Stay updated on sales trends and practices. Assist with scheduling meetings and conferences.
