Supply Chain Manager

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join a mission-driven company. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in strategic purchasing for electrical machinery manufacturing and will be responsible for developing new suppliers, maintaining existing relationships, and supporting project execution. This role requires extensive travel and a strong existing network in the Indian supplier industry.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supplier Development: Develop new suppliers with the support of a local consultant. You will also assist the Quality Inspector in auditing new suppliers according to internal processes.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with existing suppliers through on-site visits and communication.
• Project Execution and Procurement: Get tenders from Indian suppliers that are on time, on quality (commercial and technical), and on budget. You will also assist in price and contract negotiations. Orders will be placed by the Birr Machines Switzerland office.
• Market Analysis: Analyze the supplier market for electrical machine components and identify new potential partners.
• Travel: Be willing to travel 60% of the time for supplier visits and participation in industry fairs and conferences in India.

Skills Required

• Experience: 8-10 years of professional experience in strategic purchasing for electrical machinery manufacturing.
• Negotiation & Relationships: Proven experience in successful negotiation and building relationships with suppliers.
• Network: An existing network in the Indian supplier industry.
• Risk Management: Experience in risk management within the supply chain.
• International Collaboration: At least 8 years of experience collaborating with Europe or North America.
