Job Description
FairGaze is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Sub Editor with a strong command of English and a passion for content creation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for editing and curating high-quality articles, reports, and digital content related to education, school activities, and student engagement. The role also involves conducting interviews and covering school events.
Key Responsibilities:
Fair Gaze Media Website
- Review and edit articles and event coverage for accuracy, clarity, and grammar
- Organize and conduct engaging interviews with school principals and key stakeholders
- Manage and publish text, audio, and video content on the FairGaze website
- Recruit and guide student journalists and contributors
- Collaborate with the social media team to promote published content effectively
FairGaze Scholastic Magazine
- Develop and manage the overall theme of each magazine edition
- Source content by recruiting and coordinating with student journalists
- Collaborate with designers for layout and magazine aesthetics
- Proofread and fact-check all magazine content to ensure alignment with school standards
- Work closely with schools to feature relevant stories, achievements, and interviews
Job Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual with a background in Journalism and Mass Communication. The ideal candidate is a graduate from a reputable university and has demonstrated a strong work ethic and professional skills in previous roles.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field from a recognized university
- Proven professional experience in editorial roles with a portfolio showcasing relevant work
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple content streams simultaneously
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging and diverse content

- Quality of Content: Accuracy, readability, and engagement metrics of published content
- Adherence to Deadlines: Timely editing and delivery of content, including magazines
- Event Coverage: Number and quality of events and interviews conducted and published
