Structural Design Engineer (Water Sector)

Key Responsibilities:

• Structural Design & Analysis: Carry out structural analysis and design for water supply and sewerage structures including OHT/ESR/GLSR, sumps, reservoirs, pump houses, valve chambers, intake wells, treatment plant structures, RCC/pile foundations, staging, interception and diversion structures, STPs, and intermediate pump houses.
• Design Documentation: Prepare design calculations, design notes, and technical reports for DPR submissions. Develop GFC drawings, structural layouts, reinforcement detailing, and bar bending schedules (BBS).
• Coordination & Integration: Coordinate with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure integrated designs.
• Cost & Quantity Management: Assist in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and preparation of BOQs for structural works.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure designs comply with IS codes, CPHEEO manuals, MoHUA guidelines, and client specifications. Review and approve contractor shop drawings, design submissions, and method statements.
• Construction Support: Provide technical support during construction, address site-related structural issues, and ensure structural safety, quality, and constructability.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with clients, PMC teams, third-party inspectors (TPI), and contractors. Participate in technical meetings, design review discussions, and site inspections.
• Reporting: Prepare technical notes, compliance reports, and progress inputs related to structural components.
• Value Engineering: Conduct design vetting and value engineering where required.
