Oversee the receipt and unloading of raw materials with proper documentation (delivery challans, invoices, and purchase orders, etc)
Verify the quantity and quality of materials received against purchase orders in coordination with QC for GRN clearance.
Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP systems or manual methods.
Perform periodic stock checks and cycle counts to minimize discrepancies.
Ensure the timely identification of slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
Issue raw materials to production and outsourcing teams as per schedules
Develop and maintain a systematic layout for materials in storage to optimize space utilisation.
Ensure storage conditions meet material-specific requirements (e.g., rustproofing, weather protection).
Enforce adherence to material handling safety standards (e.g., using appropriate tools and PPE).
Conduct regular safety drills and training for contract workers handling materials.
Ensure compliance with ISO, 5S, and other organizational and industry standards.
Prepare and circulate weekly/monthly reports on inventory levels, material movement
Identify and implement initiatives to optimize inventory turnover and reduce lead times.
Develop SOPs for store operations to standardise procedures and minimize errors.
