Job Description

If you thrive on new challenges every day, enjoy diving into a diverse range of technologies, and are passionate about building relationships with customers worldwide, then a career with Analog Devices' Digitizer Systems on Modules (SOMs) Applications Engineering team might be your next move.

As a Systems Applications Engineer, you'll be the crucial interface between Analog Devices – a leader in analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing – and our customers. You'll play a vital role in every customer engagement, from creating essential content (hardware, software, documentation) to providing comprehensive support from architectural design through to field issues.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced digital receivers and transmitters for cutting-edge phased-array, radar, and communication markets.
  • Transition high-speed digitizer hardware & software seamlessly from initial concept (block diagrams) to full productization.
  • Engage directly with customers to translate their complex system requirements into clear, next-generation product definitions.
  • Create sophisticated software scripts to control, evaluate, and enhance digitizer System-on-Modules (SOMs), which integrate ADC/DAC ICs with RF/microwave front-ends, baseband processors, power distribution networks, and clock distribution circuitry.
  • Guide customers through system integration, troubleshooting, and testing, ensuring smooth deployment.
  • Act as a key technical liaison between customers, marketing, and development teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Analyze complex signal chains using RF cascade concepts, including gain, noise figure, linearity, and input/output power, to optimize system performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, capable of taking responsibility, and proactive in identifying and solving challenging technical problems.
  • BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 3+ years of professional experience or equivalent.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of RF, analog, digital, and mixed-signal principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with RF cascade analysis (gain, spurious, linearity, noise figure, etc.) and/or mixed-signal design.
  • Proficiency in using lab diagnostic equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and oscilloscopes is essential.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite communication, or military communication systems.
  • Familiarity with Hardware Description Language (HDL) and FPGA/ASIC design.
  • Experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and exposure to PCB design tools.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python scripting, and C/C++ software programming.
