Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator

Requirements:

• Expertise in Installing, Configuring, Managing, Monitoring and Troubleshooting MS SQL Servers. MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL and Oracle plus.
• Experience in applying patches and service packs to keep Database at the current patch level.
• Expertise in Setting up security polices and creating appropriate logins, roles permissions.
• Expertise troubleshooting T-SQL slow queries using DMVs, trace, performance monitoring tools and tuning queries using query rewrite, index redesign, Query Store, tweaking SQL Server configuration values, Server configurations and other methodologies.
• Strong understanding of different types of JOINs, HINTs, operators in execution plan and how optimizer engine works
• Strong knowledge on different type of locks, lock compatibilities and must be able provide resolution for frequent Blocking and Deadlocks situations in highly pressurized situations.
• Technical expertise in Tempdb usage and its configurations for optimal performance
• Expertise in SQL Server Replication, Mirroring, Log Shipping, AlwaysOn Groups, Backup/Recovery, Disaster Recovery and Planning.
• Experience working with Indexes, Table Partitioning, Traces.
• Expertise in Database Administration on Production Servers with server configuration, performance tuning and maintenance with outstanding troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong technical background along with the ability to perform business analysis and write effective documentation and specifications.
• Worked in T-SQL writing stored procedures, triggers and functions.
• Expert in data transformation services and Bulk Loads with SSIS and BULK INSERT ETL operations.
• Experience in using DMV and Dynamic Management Functions for finding out long running queries, performance troubleshooting, query plans.
• Working knowledge in Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and upgrade, migration of it.
• Positive attitude at work and towards team members, involvement in productive discussions and volunteering lead to improve databases.
• Responsible for problem escalation and resolution by working closely with Application management/QA and development teams.

Responsibilities :

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Mathematics or other similar concentration.
• 4-5 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server database administration other RDBMS.
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and database management tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), PL/SQL
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of high availability options for SQL Server, such as clustering and replication.
• Basic understanding of MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and Oracle a plus.
