Job Purpose:

Responsible for generating enquiries, tracking opportunities, and closing orders. This role involves travelling, developing customers in the assigned territory, understanding utility requirements, submitting appropriate offers, and achieving sales/order intake targets.

Job Context:

Seeking an ambitious and energetic Sr Sales Engineer with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in Sales & Marketing. The candidate will act as the front-end sales engineer with proactive engagement in tenders and opportunities. Responsible for periodic achievement of sales and collections.

Job Dimensions:

Based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, responsible for growing business in Tamil Nadu & Kerala. Reports to the Zonal Manager South, LEI. Must have experience with Medium Voltage Switchgear (e.g., RMU and RTUs).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strong product knowledge of MV/LV switchgear and RTUs
  • Preferably from a competitor or similar manufacturer
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and sales tools like D365
  • Must own a two- or four-wheeler
  • Flexible for hybrid working
  • Familiar with state distribution utilities and local electrical contractors
  • Generate enquiries and close orders
  • Meet a budget of 400 MINR across Tamil Nadu & Kerala
  • Collect payments from CPs as per agreed terms
  • Prepare budget by capturing TAM, offered/non-offered markets
  • Maintain healthy customer and CP relationships
  • Motivate CPs to meet targets
  • Track and achieve sales/revenue and DI/payment collection targets

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Min 8+ years in Sales & Marketing
  • Strong communication and IT fluency
  • Project management and multitasking skills
  • Excellent organization and self-motivation
  • Knowledge of order management best practices
  • Experience with MS Office and CRM tools
  • Strong analytical and customer service skills
