Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Sourcing & Management
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality standards, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
Procurement Planning
- Coordinate with internal departments to forecast material and product requirements based on project or production needs.
- Plan and place orders in a timely manner to ensure smooth operations and avoid stockouts.
Price Negotiation
- Negotiate contracts, prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to secure favorable terms and cost savings for the organization.
Order Management
- Create and manage purchase orders ensuring accuracy of item specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Track order status and follow up with vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and work with warehouse/inventory teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Avoid overstocking or stock shortages through timely procurement actions.
Quality Control
- Ensure all procured goods meet internal quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with the quality assurance team for inspection and resolution of quality issues.
Vendor Performance Monitoring
- Evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and timely delivery.
- Address and resolve any supplier-related issues that may impact operations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain organized records of all purchases, contracts, quotations, and communications.
- Prepare and present procurement activity reports and cost savings analysis to management.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement guidelines, and legal/regulatory standards.
Cost Management
- Continuously seek cost optimization opportunities without compromising product quality.
- Stay updated on material market trends and pricing fluctuations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in procurement or purchasing
