Job Description

The Senior Captain will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service in a hotel or restaurant setting. The role involves greeting and assisting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring compliance with hotel standards and SOPs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Reception: Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival and thank them with a fond farewell, conveying anticipation for their next visit.
  • Reservations & Seating: Assist guests with table reservations and seating arrangements.
  • Service Delivery: Ensure guests are served within specified timeframes and apply proper service techniques consistently.
  • Menu Knowledge: Have thorough knowledge of menu items, presentation standards, and be able to answer guest queries or assist with menu selections.
  • Anticipate Guest Needs: Proactively anticipate and respond to unexpected guest needs promptly and tactfully.
  • Food & Beverage Service: Serve food courses and beverages to guests according to hotel standards.
  • Table Setup: Set tables according to type of event and service standards.
  • Order Management: Record transactions and orders accurately using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Communication: Speak clearly and professionally with guests and staff, including handling phone calls with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure hotel brand standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed.
