Job Description
- Diagnose and evaluate musculoskeletal conditions, including fractures, sprains, strains, joint diseases, deformities, and other orthopaedic disorders
- Perform thorough physical examinations, review medical histories, and order diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and blood work, to aid in accurate diagnosis
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans based on diagnostic findings, utilizing a combination of non-surgical and surgical methods
- Administer injections, medications, and other non-surgical treatments to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and promote healing
- Perform orthopaedic surgeries, including joint replacements, arthroscopic procedures, fracture fixations, and corrective surgeries, using advanced surgical techniques
- Monitor and evaluate patients' progress throughout the course of treatment, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and providing appropriate post-operative care
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures to promote long-term health and well-being
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and radiologists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in orthopaedics through continuous learning, attending conferences, and participating in professional development activities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of all patient interactions, treatments, and procedures in accordance with established protocols and regulations
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of medical practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Completion of residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery
- Board certification or eligibility for board certification in Orthopaedics
- Valid medical license to practice as an Orthopaedic Specialist
- Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of orthopaedic conditions and performing various orthopaedic surgeries
- In-depth knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans
- Strong surgical skills and familiarity with the latest surgical techniques and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
