Job description of SQA (Software Quality Analyst)

Functional skills

  • Experience of having led at least one ISO 9001/TL 9000 audit certification/metrics measurement
  • Extensive experience in Software Quality Metrics measurement and improvement
  • Good level knowledge in PMBOK Process areas
  • Knowledge of CMMI, LEAN/Six Sigma, Agile methodologies
  • Ability to derive useful information/trends from voluminous data
  • Certified Scrum Master Certification
  • Functional knowledge of DevOps
  • Root Cause Analysis skills
  • Basic Business Acumen

Tools Skills

  • Ability to work with MS Excel in creating Charts, Macros, Pivot Tables and generating on demand reports
  • Proficient in making impactful presentations using MS Power Point
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project Plan(MSP)
  • Working knowledge of GITHUB,JIRA, Confluence

Soft skills

  • Ability to connect with and articulate process non compliances, performance status, improvement areas to engineering/unit heads and emphatically advise corrective-preventive actions
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team and drive the desired outcomes
  • Confident, passionate for achieving goals
  • Ability to deliver compelling presentations to achieve a desired outcome

Key responsibilities

  • Is responsible for applying the principles and practices of software quality assurance throughout the software development life cycle
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive unit/org level transformational changes
  • Conduct Process Compliance audits for Product Units/support functions
  • Facilitate the Project Managers with MSP, scheduling, risk management, planning and other project management process areas.
  • Prepare the organization for external audits and conduct Internal Quality Audits
  • Carry out extensive data analysis, churn out reports & dashboards and present to senior management/unit heads periodically
  • Ensure/facilitate closure of project/process NCs
  • Identify training needs and conduct trainings to bridge the gaps identified in assigned product unit/support functions
  • Should identify patterns across the faults/deviations/problems and suggest and implement process improvements
  • Measure Effectiveness of processes, derive and implement Effectiveness metrics at unit/Orgn. Level.

Educational background & work experience

(For I4 equivalent/IC)

  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer science / Electronics / Telecommunications / Industrial
  • Or M.C.A. (with 2-4 year experience of SDLC)
  • Or M.T.Q.M (with 2-4 year experience of SDLC & Comp.Sc. as a compulsory subject in UG)

For I5/I6 equivalent/IC )

  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer science / Electronics / Telecommunications / Industrial or M.C.A. or M.T.Q.M with 5-6 years of relevant experience as SQA in software product development industry in renowned organizations (preferably in telecom sector) or with 5-6 years of relevant experience as quality engineer in other technology industry
