Software Product Developer with Scala

The Maps team is developing tools to analyze, visualize, process, manage, and curate data on a large scale. We are looking for engineering leads who can be part of the team building massive, scalable, distributed systems that process geospatial data at scale to power our products.

Key Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working in a software product development organization building modern and scalable big data applications
• Expertise with functional programming in Scala
• Experience in developing REST-based microservices, preferably with Play as an MVC framework
• In-depth knowledge of developing applications using Elastic search, Kafka messaging
• Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases, with familiarity with the Cassandra database
• Experience in building low-latency high high-transactional services
• Casandra, Kafka, Play, Scala
