SME Routing and Switching

Job Description:

• Role Overview: Manage, operate, and support enterprise-grade network infrastructure with a focus on L2-level routing, switching, and security to ensure high availability and compliance.
• Network Operations: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
• Routing & Switching: Configure and support Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba routers and switches; strong command over OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, and VRRP protocols.
• Network Security: Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other network security protocols; ensure adherence to internal IT security policies.
• Incident Management: Handle L2 support tickets, perform root cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.
• Collaboration: Work with L3 engineers and vendors for escalations, project rollouts, and technical guidance.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor network performance and generate regular health reports.
• Documentation: Maintain network topologies, configurations, and incident resolution records.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure compliance with IT security standards, participate in audits, and follow industry best practices.
• Soft Skills: Demonstrate strong communication, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure; flexible for rotational shifts or on-call support if required.
• Certifications (Preferred): CCNA/CCNP (Enterprise or Security), Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE; ITIL Foundation advantageous.
