Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- SharePoint 2016 Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and management of SharePoint 2016 farms, including farm health, patching, and updates.
- User & Permission Management: Administer user accounts, groups, and permissions within SharePoint, ensuring secure access and smooth collaboration across teams and departments.
- Site Collection and Web Application Management: Create and manage SharePoint site collections, web applications, and sub-sites based on business needs.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide troubleshooting and support for SharePoint issues, including performance problems, access errors, and workflow issues, ensuring minimal disruption to end users.
- Backup and Restore: Implement and maintain backup and restore procedures for SharePoint data, ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Performance Monitoring: Use SharePoint Health Analyzer, ULS logs, and other monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
- Farm Maintenance: Perform regular farm maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrading, and system monitoring to ensure SharePoint is running optimally.
- Customization & Configuration: Assist with customizing SharePoint features (e.g., document libraries, lists, search configurations, workflows, branding) and ensure that the platform meets the business's specific needs.
- Search Configuration: Manage and optimize Search Service Application to ensure fast and accurate search results.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and manage security settings for SharePoint, including configuring SSL, user authentication, and site security policies.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Handle SharePoint service interruptions, configuration issues, and other technical problems that affect user access or system stability.
- Documenting Procedures & Best Practices: Create and maintain documentation for configurations, changes, best practices, and troubleshooting guides.
- Integration Support: Assist with integrating SharePoint with other enterprise applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Power Automate, and PowerApps).
- Collaboration & Training: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide SharePoint support and end-user training to ensure a smooth user experience.
- Reporting: Generate and review SharePoint reports (e.g., usage statistics, site activity) and present findings to key stakeholders.
- Upgrade Planning: Assist in planning and executing SharePoint upgrades or migrations (e.g., from SharePoint 2010 to 2016 or from SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online).
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in SharePoint 2016 administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint farm architecture, including web applications, service applications, and security configurations.
- Proficiency in SharePoint permissions management (site collection, library, and item-level permissions) and Active Directory integration.
- Experience with SharePoint workflows, including InfoPath, Power Automate, and SharePoint Designer.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using ULS logs, SharePoint Health Analyzer, Performance Monitor, and other diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with SQL Server for SharePoint database management, backups, and performance optimization.
- Experience with SharePoint Search configuration and optimization.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for SharePoint administration tasks such as farm management, backups, and user permissions.
- Experience with SharePoint security best practices, including SSL, authentication mechanisms (Kerberos, NTLM), and role-based access controls.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint content management, document libraries, lists, and site customization.
- Good understanding of SharePoint 2016 Service Applications (e.g., User Profile Service, Search Service, Managed Metadata Service).
- Experience in managing and optimizing SharePoint Online or hybrid SharePoint environments is a plus.
- Ability to provide end-user training and create documentation on processes and best practices.
