Job Description
A Marine Field Service Engineer installs, maintains, and repairs complex marine systems (propulsion, electrical, automation, navigation) on vessels at sea or in port, focusing on troubleshooting, commissioning, and ensuring safety/compliance, involving extensive travel, technical reporting, and customer support for equipment like DP systems, switchgear, radios, and engines, demanding high autonomy and problem-solving for a safe, operational fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Commissioning: Oversee setup and testing of new/upgraded systems (DP systems, automation, electrical).
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine checks, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex issues with propulsion, power, navigation, and communication systems.
- Technical Support: Advise vessel crews and onshore teams, providing training and guidance.
- Reporting: Document all activities, findings, and recommendations in detailed technical reports.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to strict maritime health, safety, and regulatory standards (HSE).
- Customer Relations: Build trusted relationships, identify improvement opportunities, and manage service delivery.
- Logistics: Plan service activities, manage parts, and prepare work packs.
- On-Call: Provide emergency support, often requiring travel at short notice.

- Dynamic Positioning (DP) Systems
- Propulsion & Power Management Systems (PMS)
- Switchgear & Circuit Breakers
- Marine Automation Systems (AMS, IPMS)
- Navigation & Communication Gear (Radars, GPS, Satcom, ECDIS)
- 2-stroke/4-stroke Engines
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electronic and Instrumentation.
- Field Services Engineer will be responsible for performing various field service activities, including installation, maintenance, and repair of marine Control systems.
