Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for post-sales service operations, ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of wind energy generators (WEGs). This role is crucial for attending to breakdowns, performing scheduled maintenance, and ensuring all work is documented and completed in compliance with safety and quality standards. You will play a vital part in maintaining our contractual obligations with customers and ensuring the long-term reliability of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Breakdown & Maintenance: Attend to on-call breakdowns and perform regular maintenance activities on WEGs and related equipment. Ensure all work is done according to standard engineering practices and the latest checklists and manuals.
• Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document all work performed, including the consumption of spares and consumables. Report any abnormalities to the site in-charge and communicate any issues that cannot be fixed immediately.
• Safety & Compliance: Prioritize self-safety and ensure compliance with all HSE, ISO, and other statutory requirements. Report any abnormalities on overhead lines and take corrective action in consultation with the site in-charge.
• Tools & Equipment Management: Ensure the safety and care of all tools, tackles, measuring instruments, and spare parts in your custody.
• Site & Staff Oversight: Monitor the performance of security personnel and operators, reporting any non-compliances. Assist in maintaining the site office and guest house in good condition.

Qualifications

• A Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience, or a BE in Electrical/Electronics with relevant experience.
• An Electrical Supervisor License is preferred.

Competencies & Skills

• Safety: Basic knowledge of safety practices and heavy lifting equipment, preferably with institutional training in working at heights.
• Technical: The ability to keep up-to-date with all operating and maintenance manuals, checklists, and service bulletins.
• Communication & Reporting: Effective communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work on online reporting systems.
• Coordination: Strong coordination skills to liaise with the site in-charge and other team members.
• General: A valid driver's license and proficiency in vehicle driving.
