Job Description
As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer within Medtronic's Neuroscience portfolio, you'll be a vital member of our quality engineering team. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest quality standards for incoming materials and components, supporting both new product introductions and legacy product remediation. You'll coordinate with suppliers and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing functions to uphold Medtronic's rigorous quality requirements, helping us champion healthcare access and equity globally.
A Day in the Life
You will drive supplier quality and product excellence by:
- Developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality standards and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure robust quality standards are in place.
- Devising and implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Designing or specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducting quality assurance tests; and performing statistical analysis to assess costs and determine responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Ensuring that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- Potentially specializing in areas such as design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
- Working comfortably with international and multi-cultural departments and groups in different time zones.
- Delivering accurate and high-quality work with a sense of urgency.
- Working effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrating eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities and accountability.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a Technical Discipline is required.
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of quality systems experience.
- Experience in supplier management is an added advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to comprehend principles of engineering, physiology, and medical device use.
- Previous customer-facing and/or project management experience is a plus.
