Inviting applications for the role of Senior Principal Consultant- Technical Architect
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Architect to lead enterprise-scale COBOL to .NET modernization programs. This role is responsible for defining the target-state architecture, selecting the right migration strategy (Re-host, Re-platform, Refactor, Re-architect), and ensuring a secure, scalable, and resilient transformation from legacy mainframe systems to modern .NET-based distributed platforms.
This position plays a critical role in enabling digital transformation while ensuring business continuity for mission-critical systems (Banking / Financial Services / Insurance preferred).
Responsibilities
Modernization Strategy & Architecture Design
.Define enterprise modernization blueprint.
.Evaluate and recommend migration approach:
oRe-host (Lift & Shift)
oRe-platform
oCode Conversion
oRe-architecture (Microservices / Domain-driven design)
.Design target architecture using:
o.NET Core / .NET 6+
oC# / ASP.NET Core
oAPI-first & microservices architecture
.Define integration and interoperability frameworks.
2. Legacy System Analysis & Decomposition
.Analyze COBOL applications (Batch, Online/CICS).
.Perform application portfolio assessment.
.Conduct dependency mapping (JCL, DB2, VSAM, MQ).
.Identify embedded business rules and transformation complexity.
.Drive reverse engineering and domain modeling.
Target Platform Architecture
.Define:
oApplication architecture (Layered / Clean Architecture)
oData architecture (DB2/VSAM to SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
oIntegration patterns (REST, MQ, Kafka, gRPC)
oEvent-driven or service-based architecture
.Design cloud-ready architecture (Azure/AWS).
.Implement security architecture (OAuth2, JWT, encryption, RBAC).
4. Data Migration & Governance
.Define data migration strategy and reconciliation approach.
.Ensure:
oData integrity
oAudit compliance
oRegulatory adherence (if BFSI)
.Oversee data validation, parallel runs, and reconciliation frameworks.
5. Non-Functional Architecture
.Performance optimization strategy.
.High availability and disaster recovery design.
.Scalability & load handling planning.
.Observability (logging, monitoring, tracing).
