Senior Performance Tester

Job Responsibilities:

• Performance Test Planning and Execution: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive performance test plans and strategies. This includes defining performance test objectives, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), and outlining test scenarios.
• System Architecture and API Flow Analysis: Possess a deep understanding of system architecture, end-to-end API flows, and underlying infrastructure to effectively identify performance bottlenecks and potential areas of improvement.
• JMeter Scripting and Tool Utilization: Develop, maintain, and execute highly efficient and robust performance test scripts using JMeter. This involves parameterization, correlation, assertion, and other advanced scripting techniques to simulate realistic user loads.
• Independent Contribution and Problem Solving: Work autonomously as an individual contributor, taking ownership of performance testing activities from inception to completion. This includes problem-solving, root cause analysis of performance issues, and recommending solutions.
• Results Analysis and Reporting: Analyze performance test results, identify performance trends, and interpret complex data to pinpoint system limitations. Generate clear, concise, and actionable performance test reports for various stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate performance testing progress, findings, and recommendations to clients, development teams, project managers, and other relevant stakeholders. Collaborate closely with these teams to ensure performance requirements are met throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills:

• Performance Testing Tools: Demonstrated expertise and hands-on proficiency with leading performance testing tools, specifically JMeter, for various application types (web, API, mobile).
• Scripting Languages: Strong command of scripting languages, particularly Java, for developing custom functions, pre/post-processors, and enhancing test script capabilities within performance testing frameworks.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical information clearly, present findings, and interact professionally with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Good to Have:

• Cloud Platform Experience: Familiarity or experience with deploying and testing applications on major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Monitoring Tools Knowledge: Basic understanding of performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana) to aid in bottleneck identification and server-side analysis.
