Senior Member of Technical Staff - SMTS

Job Responsibilities  

• Design and develop code on an agile team of Engineers, a Product Owner, and Experience Designer 
• Understand the legacy system PERL code base, and contribute to these areas and propose opportunities for modernization
• Accurately estimate the size of development tasks in story points, challenge other during estimation
• Understand and follow coding conventions, architectures, and best practices; hold other members of the team accountable for doing so
• Perform peer code reviews to ensure quality standards
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Participate and own production issues and troubleshooting
• Collaborate inclusively with cross-functional team members

Typical Qualifications

• About 5-6 years of software engineering experience with significant product development expertise
• Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer
• 2+ years of developing microservices with Spring Boot framework
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (preferably Java); relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL with modern UI frameworks (preferably React) 
• Experience working with NoSQL databases like Apache Cassandra
• Familiarity with designing and implementing event-driven systems, including experience using Apache Kafka for message brokering
• Experience with DevOps principles, and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins along with git, bitbucket or other source code repositories. 
• Experience with deploying and managing infrastructure on AWS cloud platforms using Terraform
• Familiarity with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS and experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of healthcare and electronic health records will be a plus
