Job Description

As a Senior IT Technologist - SAP Manufacturing at Medtronic, you will be a seasoned individual contributor responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining robust SAP solutions within our manufacturing landscape. You'll translate complex business requirements into effective SAP functionalities, focusing on areas like MRP, Product Labeling, Calibration Management, and Quality Management. Your expertise will be critical in optimizing our manufacturing processes and ensuring seamless system integration, directly contributing to Medtronic's mission of delivering innovative healthcare technology.

A Day in the Life

You will drive manufacturing efficiency and SAP excellence by:

  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, translating them into SAP solutions.
  • Configuring, customizing, and maintaining SAP Make modules, including, but not limited to, MRP, Product Labeling, Calibration Management, and Quality Management.
  • Designing, configuring, and maintaining integration with other key SAP modules like FI, SD, MM, APO, and PP.
  • Providing expertise in SAP best practices and advising on system optimizations and enhancements.
  • Leading and participating in end-to-end implementation projects, covering all phases from Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, to Run.
  • Working with other functional leads in the IT team to ensure that functional design and configuration in the SAP Make area align with SAP best practices.
  • Performing system integration activities, ensuring seamless data flow and process alignment.
  • Conducting thorough testing of configured solutions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to the SAP Make area and its integrations.
  • Providing user training and support during project implementations and post-go-live phases.
  • Staying updated on SAP trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve processes and systems.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level specialists; potentially managing projects/processes.
  • Communicating with senior internal and external customers and vendors to exchange information and influence decision-making.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience as an SAP Make Functional Analyst, with a focus on SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience with SAP upgrade and S/4HANA implementation.
  • Experience with Global rollouts.
  • Strong virtual communication skills, capable of interacting across all levels of Business and IT organizations.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution in SAP ME and MII.
  • Prior Pharma and/or Medical Device experience.
  • Experience with Lab data management systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.
