Senior IT Technologist - SAP Planning
Job Description
As a Senior IT Technologist - SAP Planning at Medtronic, you will be a highly skilled SAP Plan Functional Analyst with extensive experience in both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA. Your deep expertise in planning functionalities, including Demand Planning, Distribution Planning, Order Allocation Management, Inventory Planning, and Product Lifecycle Planning, will be crucial in identifying gaps in our regional templates and helping to build a robust global template. You'll drive the optimization of our planning processes and contribute significantly to Medtronic's mission of leading global healthcare technology.
A Day in the Life
You will drive SAP Planning excellence and strategic initiatives by:
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, translating them into effective SAP solutions.
- Configuring, customizing, and maintaining SAP Plan modules, including SCM APO and its integration with other critical modules like Deliver, FI, SD, and MM.
- Providing expert guidance on SAP best practices and advising on system optimizations and enhancements to improve planning processes.
- Leading and actively participating in end-to-end SAP implementation projects, spanning all phases: Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run.
- Collaborating closely with other functional leads in the IT team to ensure that the functional design and configuration in SAP Plan areas align with overall SAP best practices.
- Performing comprehensive system integration activities to ensure seamless data flow and process alignment across the SAP landscape.
- Conducting thorough testing of configured solutions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability of planning functionalities.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to the SAP Plan area and its integrations, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Providing essential user training and support during project implementations and in post-go-live phases to ensure user adoption and proficiency.
- Staying continuously updated on SAP trends, technologies, and best practices to recommend and implement improvements to processes and systems.
- Working independently with limited supervision to define and develop solutions.
- Coaching and reviewing the work of more junior specialists, and potentially managing specific projects or processes within the planning domain.
- Communicating with senior internal and external customers and vendors to exchange information, convey status, share ideas, and influence decision-making.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong hands-on experience as an SAP Planning Functional Analyst, with a focus on both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
- Proven experience with SAP upgrade and S/4HANA implementation projects.
- Experience with Global rollouts of SAP planning solutions.
- Strong virtual communication skills, enabling effective interaction across all levels of Business and IT organizations.
- Possesses a problem-solving mindset and the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to diagnose complex issues and propose effective solutions.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy in planning processes.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Blue Yonder AMPS.
- Experience in SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) and Anaplan.
- Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.
- Prior Pharma and/or Medical Device industry experience is desired.
