Senior IT Technologist - MDM Testing

As a Senior IT Technologist - MDM Testing, you will be a pivotal member of our IT team, specializing in developing and executing robust testing solutions within the Master Data Management (MDM) space, encompassing both on-premise and cloud environments. Your deep expertise in MDM technologies and hands-on experience in testing will directly drive the success of our Master Data initiatives, championing healthcare access and equity by ensuring the highest quality of our technological solutions.

A Day in the Life

You will drive MDM testing excellence and innovation by:

• Crafting, building, and running automated test frameworks in distributed cloud environments such as AWS and GCP, leveraging strong scripting skills.
• Applying a strong understanding of Software Testing concepts, including positive/negative scenarios.
• Utilizing Java programming knowledge for test automation and framework development.
• Implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Performing hands-on automated testing with tools like Cucumber, Robot, or similar.
• Deploying automated tests in CI/CD environments like Jenkins to ensure continuous validation.
• Conducting performance testing to ensure scalability and reliability of MDM solutions.
• Collaborating with Master Domain Owners and Medtronic business partners to develop comprehensive testing strategies and plans, determining best approaches for solutioning.
• Working with source system owners, data stewards, and Data Governance personnel to define thorough testing scenarios.
• Assisting Medtronic team members, vendors, or other customers on software testing best practices.
• Developing automated tests and executing test plans for both on-premise and SaaS MDM solutions, ensuring they meet technical specifications, quality standards, and adhere to best practices.
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives, exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance testing processes, efficiency, and performance.
• Overseeing the end-to-end testing of complex MDM domain solutions, including data rules, data quality, and data transformation processes, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural documentation.
• Providing mentorship and guidance to other members of the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Analyzing and optimizing testing solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability, identifying potential bottlenecks and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including test strategy, test plan, test scenarios, test procedures, and test results.
• Staying abreast of emerging technologies, integration trends, and industry developments, exploring and recommending innovative solutions to improve testing processes, efficiency, and overall system performance.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• 7+ years of progressive experience in IT integration with a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, MCA, or MSc.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, including the capacity to present complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to lead the development, deployment, and technical quality of large enterprise or global solutions that span multiple technologies and disciplines.
• Participation in integration design activities, working closely with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and peer team members.
• Strong understanding of integration technologies, middleware platforms, integration design patterns, messaging frameworks, API management, ETL tools, data transformation techniques, and ESB frameworks.
• Ability to understand the customer's business problem, need, or opportunity and to design a solution that completely and correctly addresses it without unnecessary enhancements.
• Experience working with Real-Time & Near Real-Time integrations, including Message-Oriented based message handling techniques.
• Experience with Cloud technology (AWS) including containers, Kubernetes, Docker, and a solid understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms/Applications.
• Experience/Knowledge in designing CI/CD solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with enterprise database technologies like Oracle, DB2, Snowflake, DBT, and MS SQL Server.
