Job Description
As a Senior IT Technologist at Medtronic, you will serve as a highly skilled SAP Finance Functional Analyst, leveraging your extensive expertise in SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Central Finance. You'll play a crucial role in translating complex business requirements into robust SAP finance solutions, supporting various finance capabilities from Record to Report to Treasury, and ensuring seamless systems integration. Your work will directly champion healthcare access and equity by optimizing Medtronic's financial operations.
A Day in the Life
You will drive financial system excellence by:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translating them into SAP finance solutions.
- Configuring, customizing, and maintaining SAP finance modules, including but not limited to FI (Financial Accounting), CO (Controlling), and AA (Asset Accounting).
- Providing expertise in SAP finance best practices and advising on system optimizations and enhancements.
- Leading and participating in end-to-end implementation projects, covering requirements gathering, design, development, testing, training, and support.
- Performing system integration activities with third-party systems such as Blackline, Vertex, ReVal, OneSource, CorpTax, Paymetric, and Ariba, ensuring seamless data flow and process alignment.
- Conducting thorough testing of configured solutions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and reliability.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to SAP finance modules and integrations.
- Providing user training and support during project implementations and post-go-live phases.
- Staying updated on SAP finance trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve processes and systems.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- 7+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on experience as an SAP Finance Functional Analyst, with a focus on SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Central Finance.
- Proven experience in SAP support/implementations, with a focus on Finance and integrated modules.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, including Record to Report, Operations Finance, Asset Accounting, Accounts Receivable, FPA, Controllership, Intercompany transactions, Tax, Treasury, Audit, Accounts Payable, and Travel and Expense Management.
- Strong understanding of SOX compliance and risk management practices.
- Hands-on experience in configuring and customizing SAP finance modules to meet business requirements.
- Experience with Global rollouts.
- Strong virtual communication skills across all levels of Finance and IT organizations.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose effective solutions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- A working knowledge of accounting principles and processes.
Nice to Have
- Prior project experience with moving a client from ECC to S/4HANA.
- Prior Pharma and/or Medical Device experience.
- Familiarization with automation tools and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
