Senior Fullstack Software Engineer

What You Will Be Doing:

• Lead development of a Ruby on Rails-based application, including APIs and front-end components using PostgreSQL, Jbuilder, Hotwire, Haml, Sass, etc.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to meet and exceed customer needs in the simplest, most effective ways.
• Design and maintain B2B APIs; work with 3rd-party counterparts to support successful integrations.
• Conduct code reviews to enforce clean code and best practices (style guidelines, testability, performance, etc.).
• Review and groom user stories with the product team to clarify intent and define technical solutions.
• Track and communicate delivery progress and risks to stakeholders and Product team.
• Provide production support for deployed products.
• Lead system architecture discussions and technical design reviews to ensure security, scalability, and reliability.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product/system issues with a strong focus on customer impact.
• Write and maintain clear documentation for code, architecture, and configurations.
• Implement automated tests to verify feature functionality.
• Mentor, support, and coach other engineers, focusing on feedback and technical growth.
• Drive engineering excellence across the team by leading by example.
• Own the design of new features including database schema, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and scaling.
• Manage the tech stack running on AWS and handle cloud maintenance, including AMI creation, resource provisioning, and monitoring.

What We're Looking For:

• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• 8+ years of professional development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL (preferably both).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience leading development teams of 5+ engineers.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining B2B APIs.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.

What Will Make You Stand Out:

• Demonstrated experience with Hotwire (Turbo / Stimulus).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably with GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of X12 EDI or LIMRA (LDEx).
• Background in US Healthcare systems or InsurTech.
• Experience contributing to open source or building Ruby gems.
