Senior Frontend Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Application Architecture & Development: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance React Native applications.
• Component Development: Develop modular, scalable, and reusable components for integration into a larger ecosystem.
• End-to-End Mobile Development: Handle end-to-end mobile app development, including UI/UX, API integrations, performance optimization, and bug fixes.
• Feature Implementation: Implement deep linking, push notifications, in-app navigation, and third-party SDKs.
• App Release Management: Manage app releases to both App Store and Google Play.
• API Collaboration: Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs.
• CI/CD: Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for mobile deployments.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor app performance and user feedback, iterating quickly on improvements.
• Product Ownership: Own the product roadmap, tech decisions, and documentation for the app.
• Cross-Functional Liaising: Liaise with cross-functional teams to create documents, propositions, and align objectives with partners.
• Process Adherence: Provide inputs and develop processes, presentations, and respond to new proposals in a timely manner.
• Program Management: Program manage lender partners from problem statement identification through to implementing scalable solutions.
• Compliance: Ensure that all regulatory and internal compliances are met and adhered to without fail.
• Internal Stakeholder Management: Coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders like Risk, Product, Legal, Finance, Payments, Customer Service for partner onboarding and integration activities until go-live.
• Stakeholder Communication: Provide crisp and timely updates on integration to internal stakeholders, securing support when required, and ensuring relevant internal and partner teams are connected.
• Business Operations: Ensure the smooth running of business operations, including dispute resolution for partners, reconciliation, and invoice management.
• Reporting & Analytics: Monitor key portfolio, operational, and financial metrics for partners and report any discrepancies. Prepare and share reports on business performance, reconciliation, revenue, etc.
• Business Impact: Contribute to building supply for the Merchant Lending business and manage large Lending Partners.
• Challenges & Decisions: Consistently deliver outcomes in an extremely dynamic environment, interact with very senior internal and external stakeholders regularly, ensure process and compliance adherence in a highly regulated industry, and build a deep understanding of the product, regulations, and risk frameworks.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency with React Native in production applications.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, state management (Zustand, Redux, Context API), and navigation (React Navigation).
• Experience publishing apps to App Store and Play Store.
• Familiarity with native modules and bridging (Android/iOS).
• Solid proficiency with TypeScript and clean code practices.
• Ability to consume RESTful APIs and handle real-time data (WebSockets / Firebase).
• Experience with push notifications, deep linking, and analytics.
• Good understanding of performance profiling and debugging tools.
• Familiarity with tools like Expo, Fastlane, Bitrise, or CodeMagic.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams.
• Partnerships and/or Program/Project Management skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience with monorepo or micro-frontend mobile architecture.
• Knowledge of native Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).
• Prior experience owning a mobile product or working in a startup environment.
• An eye for UI/UX and experience working closely with design teams (Figma, etc.).
• Background in the financial services industry.
