The Role

As part of Our Company's multi-year Finance Modernization & Simplification (M&S) program, the Senior Director – Record to Report (R2R) will lead the global R2R tower from the Strategic Locations hub in Bangalore.

This leader will build and operate a world‑class R2R organization driven by process excellence, AI-enabled automation, and data intelligence.

The role demands a strategic, execution-focused leader who can drive transformation, standardization, automation, and efficiency across global entities, while ensuring control, compliance, accuracy, and speed in reporting.

Main Responsibilities

1. R2R Operations Leadership

  • Establish an R2R center of excellence with benchmarks for performance and innovation.
  • Lead end‑to‑end R2R functions: journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany, fixed assets, close process, consolidation, and reporting.
  • Own SLAs/KPIs for timeliness, accuracy, and control adherence.
  • Ensure cross‑functional alignment with Controllership, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and reporting teams.
  • Oversee service delivery teams across India and Poland to drive a unified global rhythm.

2. Transformation & Process Optimization

  • Partner with GPOs and the Finance Transformation Office to define future‑state R2R processes aligned with AI‑native operations.
  • Drive automation and analytics initiatives with the Finance AI COE.
  • Standardize global processes, reduce duplication, and eliminate manual effort.
  • Enable continuous improvement through Lean, data-driven insights, and digital tools.

3. Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and internal controls.
  • Lead risk management and control enhancements across entities.
  • Oversee audit readiness and represent R2R in audit engagements.
  • Maintain documentation, evidence retention, and a strong global control environment.

4. People Leadership & Organizational Build

  • Build and scale a high-performing R2R team within our Strategic Locations model.
  • Create a culture of innovation, automation adoption, accountability, and learning.
  • Partner with HR and Workforce Planning on role design, capability development, and succession planning.

5. Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior finance leaders and the CFO organization.
  • Partner with Tech, AI COE, and Process Redesign teams on ERP, data, and automation initiatives.
  • Lead global change management efforts for future-state R2R processes.
  • Build strong relationships with cross‑functional executive teams.

Key Deliverables

  • Reduced close cycle time with improved accuracy.
  • Scaled AI-enabled automation across global R2R.
  • Cost savings from standardization and offshore leverage.
  • High engagement and low attrition in India R2R teams.
  • Strong governance and compliance across jurisdictions.

Education

  • CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

What We Look For

  • 15+ years in accounting operations, with 5+ years leading global R2R/Controllership in Shared Services/GBS.
  • Experience in finance transformation, shared services buildout, or GBS expansion.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, RPA, AI, analytics, and workflow automation.
  • Global matrix experience with senior stakeholders.
