Senior Design Engineer
Job Description
• Provide essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform assigned engineering work.
• Promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services and technical competence.
• Serve as Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or perform moderately complex engineering assignments.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques to complex assignments.
• Oversee mid-size/large projects including planning, scheduling, reporting, staffing, cost estimating and analysis, and change management.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and other disciplines, including participation in meetings and decision-making.
• Apply technical knowledge in electrical system design, system studies, electrical packages, hazardous area classification, installation contracts, substation layouts, motor schematics, cable schedules, and interfaces with mechanical packages.
• Use ETAP or SKM software for design analysis.
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
• Participate in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Review vendor documentation for compliance with project requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze and provide independent recommendations for solutions to engineering problems of varying complexity.
• Perform effort-hour estimating, staff forecasting, and ensure practical field execution.
