Senior BigCommerce Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Big Commerce Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing e-commerce solutions on the Big Commerce platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to create seamless and high-performing online shopping experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Platform Development & Customization: Develop, customize, and maintain e-commerce websites specifically using the BigCommerce platform.
• Theme & Plugin Implementation: Implement custom themes, templates, and plugins to significantly enhance the user experience.
• API & Integration: Work extensively with RESTful APIs, Webhooks, and other integrations to extend BigCommerce functionality and connect with external systems.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize site performance and scalability to handle high traffic volumes efficiently.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues swiftly, ensuring smooth platform performance and minimal downtime.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the design and product teams to deliver user-centric solutions that meet business objectives.
• Code Quality: Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code, adhering to industry best practices.
• Platform Management: Manage and execute platform migrations, upgrades, and the rollout of new features.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest e-commerce trends and BigCommerce updates to ensure solutions remain cutting-edge.

Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
• Proficiency with the BigCommerce Stencil framework and Handlebars templating.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with backend technologies such as Node.js, PHP, or Python.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Understanding of SEO principles and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with React.js or Vue.js for frontend development.
• Knowledge of headless commerce architecture.
• Familiarity with working with third-party tools and integrations such as Klaviyo, Google Analytics, or Salesforce.
• Certification in BigCommerce development is a plus.
