Senior Architect – Planning & Design

The incumbent is Adani Airports architect with hands-on expertise in design management from concept design till as-built stages of the project phase to lead the Shell & Core / Base build programs for Terminals and ATC Complex in alignment to the vision statement for the long-term development projects at the Airport.

Functional Competencies

• Overall years of experience shall be minimum 15 years; minimum 8 recent years in Airports & rest in large scale infrastructure projects
• Experience in design management of Shell & Core / Base Build' of large-scale infrastructure projects for Airport Passenger Terminal buildings, Metro stations, ATC Complex, etc. is preferred
• Greenfield & Brownfield project development experience is a must to have
• Scale of Terminal projects involved is minimum 2,00,000sqm approx.
• Innovation design thinking & practice featuring sustainability & technology advancements in modern aviation is preferred
• Experience with globally renowned iconic Airport structures at or equivalent to Changi / Heathrow Airport, etc. is an advantage
• Capable of managing the design of a Project independently
• Exhibits sense of aesthetics and can materialize the look & feel of all high-end architectural finishes
• Experience in handling the stakeholders is preferred
• Design reflections on Passenger-first, Revenue maximization, Operational efficiency, Security-tight, Maintenance friendly, etc.
• Adaptation to Adani's growing Airport's business portfolio & its dynamics
• LEED AP- Sustainability, and or climate adaptation experience preferred
• Conversant with applicable local and international statutory norms, regulations, etc.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder relationship management skills
• Should be familiar with application of design software's like AutoCAD, Revit etc.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for design leadership, design delivery & quality of assigned projects
• Design management of projects from concept design till as-built project stages
• Ensure all works are carried out as per the currently prevalent Codes and Standards
• Provide design/technical leadership to resolve all outstanding design issues
• Lead role on assigned projects in obtaining internal stakeholder approvals, as necessary
• Lead role on assigned projects in obtaining approvals from statutory organizations in coordination with consultants / contractors as deemed necessary
• Ensure design submitted by consultant(s) / contractor (s) meets all requirements. (Drawings, Specifications and BOQ)

• Lead and ensure that design meets functional and aesthetic requirements
• Prepare presentations, renders, and reports etc. of the assigned projects for management review
• Review & Comment on consultant's documents and drawings in coordination with Engineering team & design specifications
• Coordinate design activities / deliverables with architects, engineers, sub-consultants, stakeholders, etc., relative to design and systems
• Build and sustain stakeholder relationships, act as the primary design interface with team members, and a wide range of consultants and collaborators, both internal and external
• Develop and detail the Look & feel of all High-end Architectural finishes
• Liaise with various stakeholders on all interfacing projects & Design related issues
• Review aspects of the design that are yet unresolved or that are revisited due to change
• Regular visit to the site(s) to ensure works are in line with approved design documents
• Review and Approve samples, mockups, prototypes & benchmarks to ensure quality and perform quality review and meetings on-site in collaboration with the Central Team
• Monitor the design program & reinforce the culture of an integrated team
• Support other departments like Procurement and Contracts, Legal etc. in all Project related matters
• Conduct regular meetings with consultants to ensure project is delivered on time and within the cost, meeting all expected standards
