SDET developer

The SDET Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test scripts to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. The role combines strong programming skills with expertise in test automation, ensuring that both functional and non-functional requirements are validated across the software lifecycle. The SDET works closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to enable continuous integration and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent.
• Framework Development: Build and enhance scalable, reusable test automation frameworks that integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Manual & Exploratory Testing: Perform manual testing and exploratory testing as needed to validate critical business scenarios.
• Continuous Integration & Delivery: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Defect Management: Identify, log, and track defects in collaboration with development teams; participate in root cause analysis.
• Performance & Security Testing: Conduct basic performance, load, and security testing to ensure application reliability and security standards are met.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, developers, and QA engineers to ensure requirements are testable and high-quality software is delivered.
• Documentation: Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience as an SDET or in software testing with a focus on automation.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing is a plus.
