Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Guide backend engineering teams on Scrum best practices and agile principles
- Remove impediments and help the team maintain focus on sprint goals
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to prioritize work and plan releases
- Help track technical progress and communicate blockers, risks, and dependencies
- Support the teams continuous improvement efforts and foster a culture of learning
- Drive alignment between technical and product teams, helping translate technical discussions into actionable outcomes
- Use agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, notion) to manage sprints and report key metrics
- Track and communicate team progress using relevant metrics (e.g., burndown charts, velocity)
- Coach the team on self-organization, accountability, and cross-functionality
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and open team environment
Requirements:
- 2.5 years of experience as a Scrum Master (preferably with backend or infrastructure engineering teams)
- Strong grasp of Scrum practices, principles, and frameworks
- Basic technical knowledge of backend system concepts (APIs, microservices, databases, etc.)
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PSM, or equivalent agile certification (preferred)
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Familiarity with agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, notion or similar)
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills
- Experience working with cross-functional software development teams
- Familiarity with Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and balance competing priorities
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, or microservices architectures
- Experience in scaling agile practices across multiple teams
- Knowledge of additional frameworks like Kanban, SAFe, or LeSS
