Key Responsibilities:
SAP Variant Configuration Setup and Management:
Configure SAP Variant Configuration (VC) models, including the creation of Characteristics, Classes, Configurations, Dependencies, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
Develop and manage Product Configurator Models to meet the complex needs of the business for configurable products.
Ensure that VC models align with business processes and provide functionality for configuring and pricing products.
Set up Product Master Data and Variant Pricing, including complex pricing conditions, discounting, and calculation schemes.
Collaboration with Business Teams:
Work closely with business users, particularly in Sales, Production, and Logistics, to understand the business requirements for Variant Configuration.
Translate business requirements into functional SAP Variant Configuration models and solutions that ensure effective product customization.
Provide training and support to key users in using SAP VC models to configure products in the system.
System Testing and Quality Assurance:
Perform thorough testing of Variant Configuration models to ensure they work as expected in various business scenarios, including order creation, pricing, and production planning.
Lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for new configurations, gathering feedback and adjusting the models based on user feedback and test results.
Identify and resolve issues related to Variant Configuration, including conflicts in dependencies, pricing errors, and data inconsistencies.
Integration with SAP Modules:
Collaborate with the SAP SD (Sales and Distribution), SAP MM (Material Management), and SAP PP (Production Planning) teams to ensure VC models are integrated smoothly with these modules.
Ensure seamless integration between SAP Variant Configuration and other SAP modules like SAP CRM or SAP SCM for end-to-end process automation.
Support and Continuous Improvement:
Provide ongoing support for SAP Variant Configuration solutions, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
Proactively identify areas for improvement in VC models and propose solutions to enhance the efficiency of configuration and order processing.
Stay updated with the latest SAP VC features and best practices to ensure the solution is optimized for business needs.
Customization and Enhancements:
Design and implement customization and enhancements to improve the VC models and integrate additional requirements as the business grows.
Work with the ABAP developers to create custom BADI (Business Add-Ins), user exits, or enhancements required for Variant Configuration processes.
Documentation:
Create and maintain documentation for SAP Variant Configuration models, processes, and solutions, including user manuals, configuration guides, and troubleshooting steps.
Ensure all documentation is up to date and accessible to users and team members.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Variant Configuration (VC), including the creation of Characteristics, Classes, Dependencies, BOMs, and Pricing.
Strong knowledge of SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) and SAP PP (Production Planning) modules.
Experience with SAP ERP system architecture and understanding the integration of Variant Configuration with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, CRM, SCM).
Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and understanding of new functionalities for Variant Configuration in the latest SAP environments.
Experience with user exits, BADI, and ABAP customizations to enhance the VC models.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex configuration issues in a timely manner.
