SAP Master Data Management Lead

Key Responsibilities:

1. Master Data Governance & Strategy:

• Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures for SAP master data.
• Lead the design and enforcement of master data models (e.g., material master, vendor, customer, finance objects).
• Establish master data KPIs and data quality metrics.

2. Data Quality Management:

• Monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across SAP modules.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for data quality issues.
• Lead master data cleansing and enrichment activities.

3. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Lead and mentor a team of MDM analysts and coordinators.
• Collaborate with business users, functional consultants, and technical teams to gather requirements and resolve issues.
• Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for SAP master data management in cross-functional projects.

4. System Implementation & Support:

• Manage SAP MDM solutions, including configuration, workflows, and integration with other systems (e.g., non-SAP apps, data lakes).
• Participate in SAP rollouts, upgrades, and migration projects (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA).
• Ensure compliance with data-related aspects of SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.

5. Documentation & Training:

• Create and maintain documentation for MDM processes, data dictionaries, and business rules.
• Conduct training sessions for business users and data stewards.

Key Requirements:

• Education:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• Experience:
• 7–12 years of SAP experience, with at least 4+ years in a Master Data Management lead role.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MDM, MDG (Master Data Governance), and Data Services tools.
• Experience in S/4HANA is highly preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of SAP master data objects (material, vendor, customer, BOM, GL, cost center, etc.)
• Expertise in data governance, validation rules, and approval workflows
• Proficient in data profiling, cleansing tools, and reporting (SAP MDG, SAP Data Services, Excel, SQL)
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills

Preferred Attributes:

• Exposure to large-scale SAP implementations or global data management programs
• Experience with Agile project delivery and data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM)
• Familiarity with integration tools (e.g., BODS, PI/PO, CPI) and third-party data platforms
