Key Responsibilities:
ABAP Development for SAP HANA:
Develop, customize, and optimize ABAP programs on the SAP HANA platform, ensuring the use of best practices for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Leverage ABAP for HANA capabilities, such as Core Data Services (CDS views), ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), and HANA-optimized database queries, to build high-performance solutions.
Ensure ABAP applications are optimized for SAP HANA in terms of performance, speed, and memory consumption.
SAP HANA Integration:
Design and implement data models and data services in SAP HANA to support integration with SAP modules and external systems.
Integrate SAP HANA with other SAP modules like SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, and third-party applications.
Work on data migrations, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL), to SAP HANA from legacy systems.
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
Conduct performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs, reports, batch jobs, and database queries on the SAP HANA database to ensure efficient processing.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues related to database, memory, or CPU consumption, applying optimization techniques where necessary.
Work on optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and database procedures to leverage the power of SAP HANA.
Custom Application Development:
Design and implement custom ABAP reports, interfaces, forms, workflows, and applications to meet business requirements and functional specifications.
Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and transform them into technical specifications.
Ensure that custom solutions are compliant with SAP best practices, coding standards, and security requirements.
Testing and Debugging:
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing of ABAP programs and applications to ensure that they meet functional and performance requirements.
Debug and resolve any defects or issues in ABAP code, HANA procedures, and data processing.
Provide support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist in resolving issues raised by business users.
Collaborative Work and Knowledge Sharing:
Collaborate with functional and technical teams to ensure that ABAP developments align with business processes and requirements.
Provide technical guidance to junior ABAP developers and share knowledge about SAP HANA and ABAP best practices.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and other team activities to ensure quality and maintainability of ABAP code.
SAP Fiori and UI5 Development (Optional):
If required, contribute to the development of SAP Fiori apps using SAPUI5, integrating them with ABAP back-end systems running on SAP HANA.
Implement OData services to expose ABAP functionality to the SAP Fiori front-end.
Documentation & Maintenance:
Document the technical specifications, designs, and development processes for custom ABAP applications.
Maintain and update existing ABAP programs and reports as needed, ensuring they continue to meet business requirements and technical standards.
Ensure proper version control and deployment of custom developments using tools like SAP Solution Manager or Transport Management System (TMS).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in SAP ABAP development, with a focus on ABAP for HANA.
Strong knowledge of SAP HANA, including CDS Views, AMDP, ABAP on HANA, and performance optimization techniques.
Proficiency in ABAP programming for developing reports, interfaces, forms, and custom applications.
Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver, SAP S/4HANA, and integration of ABAP applications with SAP modules.
Hands-on experience in data migration from legacy systems to SAP HANA.
Strong understanding of performance tuning, SQL optimization, and database-level troubleshooting in the context of SAP HANA.
Experience with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, or OData services is a plus.
