SAP ABAP

Responsibilities:

• Technical & Operational Support: Provide expert technical and operational support to the SAP Functional team for major development initiatives and ongoing projects, specifically in the ABAP domain.
• Incident Management: Take responsibility for Incident Management related to ABAP, ensuring timely resolution of all reported incidents to minimize disruption.
• Best Practices Adherence: Ensure that SAP functional best practices and company standards are strictly adhered to throughout both the project execution and support phases for all ABAP developments.
• Technical Feasibility & Solutions: Offer technical feasibility assessments and recommendations during project discussions and for incident resolutions, proposing appropriate alternative ABAP solutions where available.
• Implementation Planning & Management: Perform detailed planning and project management of implementation activities for SAP updates and patching that require ABAP involvement.
• Process Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date process documentation for all ABAP processes and tasks, ensuring knowledge transfer and consistency.
• Period-End Checks: Ensure all necessary Year-end close and month-end close checks related to ABAP functionalities are performed accurately and on time.
• Change Request Administration: Validate and administer all approved change requests within the ABAP environment, ensuring proper governance and control.
• Proactive Issue Mitigation: Proactively identify and address potential ABAP issues to ensure they cause minimum impact to end-user communities and business operations.
• Service Improvement: Actively work towards demonstrating a reduction in outages and delays in ABAP deliveries, contributing to overall system stability and efficiency.

Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in SAP ABAP development.
• Ability to support SAP Functional teams with technical and operational insights.
• Proven experience in Incident Management for ABAP and ensuring timely resolution.
• Understanding and adherence to SAP functional best practices.
• Capability to provide technical feasibility assessments and recommend alternative ABAP solutions.
• Skills in detailed planning and project management for implementation activities (updates & patching).
• Experience in maintaining process documentation for ABAP.
• Proficiency in performing Year-end close/month-end close checks in ABAP.
• Ability to validate and administer approved change requests.
• Proactive approach to ensuring minimal impact of ABAP issues on end-users.
• Demonstrated ability to reduce outages and delays in ABAP deliveries.
