Job Description

A sales officer in agribusiness is responsible for selling agricultural products like fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds by building relationships with farmers, distributors, and retailers. Key duties include meeting sales targets, managing a specific sales territory, educating clients on products, and coordinating with internal teams for logistics and support. 

Core responsibilities

  • Sales and client management:
  • Meet and exceed sales targets for agricultural products.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, dealers, and retailers.
  • Promote and sell products by visiting customers regularly to understand their needs.
  • Onboard new clients, educate them on products, and secure orders.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers
  • Territory and market management:
  • Manage sales activities within a specific geographical area.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
  • Generate demand and drive sales through effective communication and product presentations.
  • Identify new dealers and expand the company's distribution network.
  • Logistics and support:
  • Ensure stock availability at the retail level.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., supply chain, marketing) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle customer concerns, complaints, and payment collection.
  • Reporting and administration:
  • Maintain accurate sales records and reports.
  • Provide feedback to management on market conditions and customer needs.
