Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

·        Develop new business opportunities for Ocean and air freight.

·        Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets in line with company objectives.

·        Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, consignees, overseas agents, and internal operations teams.

·        Understand customer needs and present tailored solutions, pricing, and value propositions.

·        Identify key verticals (e.g., automotive, pharma, retail, industrial goods) and create focused sales strategies.

·        Negotiate rates with carriers and coordinate with pricing and operations teams.

·        Provide regular market intelligence and competitor updates to management.

·        Prepare and present proposals, RFQs, and business development reports.

·        Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to increase volumes and secure long-term contracts.

·        Develop tailored sales strategies for each client, focusing on cost efficiency, improved transit times, and sustainable logistics solutions.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding sales.
  • Proven experience in handling the India trade lane and strong knowledge of global freight markets.
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and generate leads and close business.
  • Strong understanding of freight rates, trade regulations, and logistics solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Air & Ocean freight products and pricing mechanisms.
  • Ability to work independently and develop long-term business strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of compliance and documentation for international shipments.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM tools.
